Duke aims for 5,000 MW of renewable capacity by 2020

Duke Energy has set a target of 5,000 megawatts of wind, solar and biomass capacity by 2020, up from 2,251 MW today. To meet its target, Duke would have to add about 3,749 MW of those three renewable-energy sources within eight years. "Renewable energy is playing an increasingly important role in how Duke Energy provides electricity to businesses and households across the U.S.," the company said.
