Entergy: Vt. shouldn't be part of generator approval procedure

Vermont shouldn't have the authority to decide on the installation of an emergency diesel generator at Entergy's Vermont Yankee nuclear plant, the company said in a filing in U.S. District Court. "Vermont's refusal to authorize construction of the ... generator is further pre-empted and unenforceable because it is an aspect of the state's long-running campaign to force the VY Station to shut down by any means necessary because of radiological safety concerns," the filing stated.
