How a dating startup became a workplace perks startup instead

Taro Fukuyama traveled from Japan to Silicon Valley with his co-founders in 2011 to find funding for their dating company, Mieple. They were short on cash, so they slept in their minivan for three days before landing in a cheap motel room. Eventually, the team entered the prestigious Y Combinator program and changed the focus of their business. Fukuyama is now the CEO of AnyPerk, which helps employers to retain and attract talented employees by providing them with attractive perks.
