With military planes grounded, air shows are, too

About 60 air shows nationwide have called off their events after the military dropped plans for its jets to participate, and more shows are likely to follow suit, according to John Cudahy, president of the International Council of Air Shows. Cudahy said some 200 of 300 shows have felt the impact of the sequestration cuts, which are behind the pullout of the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels, the U.S. Air Force's Thunderbirds and other such teams.
