N.C. city selects manager with local roots

John Connet is set to become city manager of Hendersonville, N.C., in late May. Connet, who has served as city manager of Clinton for 11 years, is familiar with Hendersonville because both sets of his grandparents are from there and he attended college in the region. "I'm really excited to get back to western North Carolina in a city that is as beautiful and has as much going on as Hendersonville does," said Connet, who was selected from a pool of about 85 candidates.
