Va. students gain financial literacy at school bank

Students at a Virginia elementary school are learning about savings accounts, interest and other aspects of money management through a program with a local bank. Each week, officials set up a mini version of the bank at the school, where students can make deposits and gain experience working as bank tellers. "We feel really strongly about giving [students] real world opportunities to learn math and economics," math teacher Ashley Castillo said.
