Biosensor system helped spot U.S. case of swine flu

Scientists at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego reportedly used Ibis Biosciences' T5000 biosensor system to help identify the swine flu virus in a 9-year-old girl. Abbott Laboratories, which acquired Ibis earlier this year, has sought FDA approval to market the system as a diagnostic device.
