Qwest reports mixed bag, with wireless a bright spot

First-quarter revenue fell 7%, but investors bid up Qwest Communications' shares Wednesday after the company reported a profit higher than analysts had expected, mostly because of a round of cost cutting and growth in its partnership with Verizon Wireless. The company said it added 42,000 broadband customers.
