Apple sets price for mobile-app ads at close to $1M

Apple plans to charge about five times the going rate for companies to advertise through its new iAd mobile-application platform, according to published accounts of the company's ongoing road show touting the business. Marketers who want to get in on the ground floor could be asked to pony up as much as $10 million to get their ads placed in software from Apple's App Store.
