Toyota, Ford advice on E15 could confuse public, observers say

Advice from Toyota and Ford could confuse the public about E15, advocates say. The federal government has issued a waiver on the use of E15 for model years 2001 and newer, but Toyota has placed a warning not to use the fuel on its 2012 model gas caps, while Ford's gas portal warns against the use of higher blends in its non-flex-fuel vehicles. Drivers of approved vehicles don't need to worry about filling up with E15 because it's "probably the single most studied fuel in the history of EPA waivers," said Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen.
