10 mayors call for pulling out investments in Big Oil

Mayor Elizabeth Goreham of State College, Pa., has joined nine other mayors in endorsing a campaign that asks U.S. municipalities to sell their stocks in big fossil fuel companies, said the environmental group 350.org. "It's about the value of clean energy and the harm caused by continuing to rely on fossil fuels," said George Jugovic, president of the group PennFuture. Last week, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors unanimously agreed to ask the city's pension fund to divest more than $583 million in stocks in about 200 fossil fuel companies.
