Addressing stereotypes in academic leadership

Asian Pacific Americans continue to face stereotypes and misconceptions that may prevent them from being hired as university presidents, according to Coastline Community College president Lori Adrian, who spoke during a recent panel discussion on the subject. Adrian and other panelists encouraged those aspiring to leadership positions to pursue their goals. "[W]e have self-limiting barriers too. Don't worry about not landing an interview. You won't get a job if you don't apply for it," Adrian said.
