Florida Gov. Rick Scott should veto legislation that would remove ethanol from the state renewable fuels standard, writes Honey Rand, a board member of the Florida BioEnergy Association. The bill is "a really bad piece of legislation" that would have no impact on the gasoline sold in the state but would have a chilling effect on investments in the state's biotechnology industry, Rand states. "We need to tell Gov. Rick Scott that we want clean energy security, that we want to ensure that producers and investors know that Florida is Open for Biofuel, Bio-energy and Biotech Business," Rand explains.
