Forecast: Internet ad spending growth to crush traditional media

ZenithOptimedia is revising its forecast for global economic growth this year to $3.9% from the 4.1% it predicted in December. The change comes after 2012 numbers turned out better than estimated. Internet advertising growth will outpace traditional media this year, 14.4% to 1.6%, respectively. "We expect the global ad market to strengthen in step with the economy, although ad expenditure will remain behind GDP growth for the rest of our forecast period," says Jonathan Barnard, ZenithOptimedia head of forecasting.
