Microsoft seen as raking in hundreds of millions from Android licenses

Microsoft is reaping hundreds of millions of dollars each quarter through royalties associated with selling patent license deals with makers of Google's Android devices, including two more deals in recent weeks, according to analysts estimates. "Getting a piece of what competitors are doing is a nice thing" for the company, said William Stofega, analyst at research firm IDC. Microsoft has maintained that much of its own technology is embedded in Android's core.
