Morocco plans to triple oilseed crops by 2020

In an effort to cut its reliance on imported vegetable oil, Morocco will nearly triple the amount of land devoted to oilseed crops by 2020, according to this article. Farmers will plant 85,000 hectares of sunflowers and 42,000 hectares of rapeseed over the next seven years, according to the agreement. Annual domestic cooking oil production is set to increase to 93,000 metric tons from the current 8,000 tons over the same period.
