Northwestern spinout develops battery with graphene tech

SiNode Systems, a spinout from Northwestern University, is developing a lithium-ion battery that incorporates graphene punctured with holes allowing the faster movement of electrons between the battery's anode and cathode, Ucilia Wang writes. The startup won more than $900,000 in the Rice Business Plan Competition this month and hopes to raise $1.5 million in private funding.
