N.Y. city council eyes stricter ban on electronic bikes

The New York City Council has approved legislation to toughen a ban on electronic bikes, which are often used to deliver food. A previous ban has been difficult to enforce, but the latest measure would fine businesses as much as $250 for using such bikes. Some consider e-bikes dangerous because riders often zoom down sidewalks or drive the wrong way in traffic.
