OECD will modernize transfer-pricing guidelines for Internet age

Determining the location of a company's profit center and where the company should pay corporate tax can be difficult when the company does part or all of its business on the Internet. To help tax rules catch up, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development plans to update transfer-pricing guidelines. The proposal is expected to be controversial, because multinationals use transfer pricing to legally shift profit from high-tax to low-tax countries.
