Operation Lifesaver, NS heighten rail-safety efforts in N.C.

Operation Lifesaver hosted a train-safety ride between Charlotte and Greensboro in North Carolina to teach about the importance of railroad safety. The event sought to inform 60 participants aboard a Norfolk Southern train about the causes of rail incidents, with inattentiveness among pedestrians and motorists the primary factor. Laws against rail trespassing and safety tips along crossings were also taught during the initiative.
