S.C. second-grade students to present park plans to city's mayor

Students at Pleasant Knoll Elementary School in South Carolina are taking on real-world issues by answering this question: How might we, as citizens in Fort Mill, design a park to be enjoyed by all community members? Technology teachers Megan Mongelli and Jeanette Evans are working on project-based learning at all grade levels. The second-grade students created a PowerPoint presentation and MovieMaker project that will be shown to Fort Mill Mayor Danny Funderburk, which Mongelli said is important to present the project "to an authentic audience."
