Voice recognition catches the ear of mobile marketers

Publishers, financial institutions and travel companies are among the verticals using voice-recognition capabilities of mobile devices to make their ads and applications seem more personal. "What these voices ads allow you to do is dynamically drive a personalized conversation and the ability to gather more data," says Peter Mahoney, chief marketing officer at Nuance, who adds that the jury is still out on the effectiveness of voice recognition in mobile advertising.
