Wellness incentives help Texas bank reduce health claims

The Amarillo National Bank in Texas paid out some $51,600 in wellness incentives in the first quarter of 2013, along with awarding 216 paid half-days off to employees who used its health clubs or completed fitness assessments. A bank report found employees who used the health clubs had average claims that were 30% lower than those of nonparticipants.
