N.C. hospital keeps patients' families updated via monitoring system

New Hanover Regional Medical Center in North Carolina has installed in its waiting room television screens that show updated information on patients undergoing surgery. The system aims to reduce anxiety among patients' family members and help them maintain communication with the doctors throughout an operation, said Avery Cloud, New Hanover's CIO.
