Ga. teachers set their own limits on Facebook

Because some districts in Georgia do not have policies regulating social media use among teachers, one superintendent says he asks educators to follow the Georgia Professional Standards, which he said address many situations that could occur online. Some teachers say they recognize that social media websites could be beneficial but also represent a risk when communicating with students, and say they follow their own guidelines for using sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
