Haemonetics moves to make inroads in whole blood collection market

Haemonetics has agreed to pay about $550 million to acquire certain blood transfusion devices and operations of Pall. The deal could be finalized at the beginning of Pall's 2013 fiscal year later this summer and will allow Haemonetics to expedite its entry into the $1.2 billion global market for manual whole blood collection.
