Boston companies show how to step up when tragedy strikes

The actions of The Boston Beer Co. in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing provide an excellent blueprint for responding to a local crisis, writes Catherine Clifford. Founder Jim Koch has pledged to donate the profits from the company's marathon-themed beer and to sponsor next year's edition of the event. Other Boston businesses have offered free meals to emergency workers and collectively contributed nearly $17 million to help victims.
