Choice Hotels reports lower net income in Q1

Higher costs attributed to the relocation of its corporate headquarters caused Choice Hotels International's net income in the first quarter to decline 22%, to $15.5 million. Total revenue rose 6%, to $136.9 million. The company reported a 4.6% increase in revenue per available room and a 2.3% rise in average daily rates.
