Colo. employers can fire workers for smoking pot, court rules

A Colorado appeals court last week ruled that employers can fire workers for using marijuana while off duty, even though the drug is legal under state law. "For an activity to be lawful in Colorado, it must be permitted by, and not contrary to, both state and federal law," the court stated in its 2-1 decision.
