Experts see diabetes benefits with intermittent fasting

Intermittent fasting may show benefits comparable to bariatric surgery in addressing obesity and related comorbidities such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, researchers reported in the British Journal of Diabetes and Vascular Disease. The researchers said the weight-loss approach may aid patients with prediabetes and newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes, but warrants further assessment.
