Expiration of retailer-owned banks moratorium could restart debate

With a three-year freeze on large retailers such as Wal-Mart owning banks set to end in July, debate on the issue could restart. Some experts say retailers are no longer as interested in seeking banking licenses but that their interest could come back once the economic and regulatory outlooks improve.
