Faculty at Duke University reject online-courses contract

The Arts & Sciences Council, the governing body of undergraduate faculty at Duke University, voted down a proposal to join a consortium of schools offering for-credit online courses through the online-education company 2U. The faculty council's vote was prompted by concerns about whether there had been adequate faculty input before agreeing to a preliminary contract. The council then passed an alternative resolution confirming their intention to pursue online education at the university.
