Firm seeks NIH grant to conduct study of epilepsy Dx tool

A pair of doctors who founded Cognizance Biomarkers are working on a blood-based test to detect epilepsy more precisely and reduce overdiagnosis of the condition. The firm is applying for NIH funding to conduct a proof of principle study for the assay, which is intended to locate an anti-inflammatory protein originating from the brain that is often found in low concentrations in epilepsy patients.
