Health care law requires businesses to act soon

States are setting up health insurance exchanges in accordance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. These exchanges are designed to keep costs down by pooling the expenses and risks of health insurance. Small firms required to provide health insurance under the law do not have to use the exchanges, but later this year, companies will have to let their employees know about them.
