HERC, federal agency partner on disability hiring in higher education

Recruiting and hiring more employees who have learning and physical disabilities in higher education is the goal of a new partnership between the U.S. Labor Department and the Higher Education Recruitment Consortium. Improving disability hiring in higher education is important, said Kathy Martinez, the assistant secretary of labor for the disability office, because "students, both with and without disabilities, benefit from having teachers and mentors who reflect society's wide diversity and talent."
