Indian tribes' payday lending ties come under scrutiny

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is scrutinizing the increasing number of Indian tribes that are getting into the payday-loan business. Officials are concerned that, in some instances, tribes are receiving compensation to use their sovereign immunity to help non-Indian payday lenders avoid state regulations.
