Individuals with autism struggle to find, keep jobs

Adults with autism spectrum disorders often face many challenges when seeking and retaining employment. A host of agencies and companies are working with individuals and companies to help remove some of the barriers. "When it comes to questions from businesses, it is just communicating to them the facts," said Ann Cameron Williams, chief research and innovations officer with The Arc. "Giving someone with autism a chance to work, many employers will discover that those on the spectrum are great at working with numbers, computers and spreadsheets," she explained.
