L.A. student to have winning dish served at schools

A ninth-grade student's "Breakfast Fruit Puff" has taken the top prize in Los Angeles Unified School District's first annual breakfast recipe contest. Guadalupe Gonzales' dish, made with whole wheat flour and fresh fruits, will be served in schools beginning in the fall. The recipe contest was intended to promote healthy eating and nutrition and increase participation in the school meal program.
