MAC swap intended to neutralize swap future advantage

Industry groups recently introduced the market-agreed coupon, or MAC, interest-rate swap as part of an effort to protect the liquidity of the swap market from futurization. However, some market participants are concerned that a standardized swap will help blur the lines between the OTC and futures markets.
