Mediterranean diet may help ward off cognitive decline in seniors

Seniors who adhered to the Mediterranean diet had a 19% lower risk of developing thinking and memory problems, which are symptoms of early dementia, according to a large study in the U.S. The diet, however, failed to prevent cognitive decline in people with diabetes. The study appeared in the journal Neurology.
