Mich. county urged to ease sound limits for proposed wind projects

The Emmet County, Mich., Planning Commission will meet on May 2 to discuss the findings of a commissioned study on the county's 35-decibel sound limit on spinning wind turbines. Engineering firm AECOM, which conducted the study, recommended that the county increase the limit to 40 decibels, in light of "the current state of the science." A similar to an amendment was considered last year.
