Ohio's MetroHealth adopts policy against hiring tobacco users

MetroHealth System in Ohio's Cuyahoga County is joining the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals in adopting a policy that prohibits hiring workers who smoke. The policy goes into effect June 1, and while it does not affect current staff, workers are being encouraged to adopt healthier lifestyles and take advantage of weight loss, exercise, smoking-cessation and nutrition programs.
