Some students avoid debt by working their way through college

Rather than take on student debt, some undergraduate college students are opting to work between 10 and 20 hours a week at college jobs in exchange for free tuition. Seven schools nationwide offer these "work college" programs, including Ecclesia College, Warren Wilson College, Sterling College, Berea College, Alice Lloyd College, College of the Ozarks and Blackburn College.
