Study explains how gastric bypass boosts diabetes care

A study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism found gastric bypass surgery appeared to alter key amino acids and hormones, including insulin, produced during digestion. The findings demonstrate how the weight-loss procedure decreases type 2 diabetes symptoms in patients and may lead to new approaches in diabetes care, researchers said.
