Tom Wheeler is said to be Obama's pick for FCC chairman

Venture capitalist and former cable and telecom lobbyist Tom Wheeler is said to be the White House's pick to succeed Julius Genachowski as chairman of the Federal Communications Commission. The plan reportedly calls for FCC member Mignon Clyburn to become acting chairman during the Senate confirmation process. Wheeler, who was a major fundraiser for President Barack Obama's re-election, formerly helmed the National Cable and Telecommunications Association and CTIA.
