Twitter's self-serve ad platform now open to all U.S. businesses

Twitter is allowing all U.S. businesses unfettered access to its self-serve advertising platform, ending its invite-only policy. That could lead to a dramatic uptick in advertising on the site, which has thousands of self-serve advertisers but is used commercially by around 4.5 million businesses. The increased competition could lead to price increases for all Twitter advertisers, writes Tim Peterson.
