NBCT: Why it's time to move away from testing

National Board Certified Teacher Renee Moore writes in this blog post that standardized test scores tell little about student achievement -- or the effectiveness of their teachers. She writes that as a parent, it was more important to her to hear in-depth reports from teachers about academic progress of her children. She said when she reviewed the teachers of her children, it was important the educators were professionals focused on cultivating students' interests and helping them meet their goals -- not on how the students performed on standardized tests.
