AAFP signs letter supporting Truth in Healthcare Marketing Act

The AAFP was among 15 physician-led organizations to sign a letter to lawmakers supporting the Truth in Healthcare Marketing Act, which would ban deceptive statements or behaviors by health care professionals in their advertising or marketing. The letter said the bill would empower patients by improving transparency and noted studies show patients are confused about health care professionals' levels of training and education.
