Alabama bill to increase gambling penalties falters

A bill that would have increased penalties for operators of gambling machines in Alabama did not have enough support to proceed in the current legislative session. Alabama has shut down most non-Indian casinos in the state, which has driven up business at the state's three tribal casinos.
