Analyst: Avago's buy of Javelin Semi follows an industry trend

The acquisition of Javelin Semiconductor by Avago Technologies comes on the heels of Qualcomm's debut of front-end radio-frequency chips made with a silicon complementary metal-oxide semiconductor process as well as the RF Micro Devices purchase of Amalfi Semiconductor for RF CMOS smartphone chips, Vijay Rakesh of Sterne, Agee & Leach notes. "We believe this should go with Avago's model of 'tuck in' acquisitions where needed to fill any technology gaps," he writes.
